Bishop's Opening: Pratt Variation

The Pratt Variation of this chess opening focuses on quick development and aggressive play in the center.

This opening begins with a pawn push to e4, followed by a bishop development to c4 and then to c5. White then plays c3 to support the center and prepare for d4. Black responds with Nf6, challenging White's center. White pushes d4, opening up the center and creating tension. Black captures on d4, and White recaptures with the pawn. Black then plays cxd4, attacking White's center pawns. White responds with Qh5, putting pressure on the f7 square and threatening checkmate. Black castles kingside to safety, and White continues the attack with O-O, completing development and preparing to bring the rooks into play.
